Do you want to set a default Gravatar image for WordPress users? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to add a custom default Gravatar image in WordPress.
Instructions:
All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s functions.php file or in a site-specific plugin:
function default_gravatar ($avatar_defaults) { $myavatar = get_bloginfo('template_directory') . '/images/default.jpg'; $avatar_defaults[$myavatar] = "Default Gravatar"; return $avatar_defaults; } add_filter( 'avatar_defaults', 'default_gravatar' );
You need to change ‘/images/default.jpg’ with your Gravatar image URL in the above code.
Note: If this is your first time adding code snippets in WordPress, then please refer to our guide on how to properly add code snippets in WordPress, so you don’t accidentally break your site.
