Are you looking for a way to add additional image sizes for your featured images? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to add additional image sizes in WordPress.
Instructions:
All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s functions.php file or in a site-specific plugin:
if ( function_exists( 'add_image_size' ) ) { add_image_size( 'category-thumb', 300, 9999 ); //300 pixels wide (and unlimited height) add_image_size( 'homepage-thumb', 220, 180, true ); //(cropped) } ?>
You need to add this code to call the additional sizes.
<?php echo get_the_post_thumbnail($post->ID, 'product-thumb'); ?>
Note: If this is your first time adding code snippets in WordPress, then please refer to our guide on how to properly copy / paste code snippets in WordPress, so you don’t accidentally break your site.
