Do you want to set the custom length for your post excerpt rather than the default 55 character limit? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to custom excerpt length in WordPress.
Instructions:
- Add this code to your theme’s functions.php file or in a site-specific plugin.
- Optionally change the number of words allowed in the excerpt on line 2. Currently it’s set to
100
.
function excerptLength($length) { return 100; } add_filter('excerpt_length', 'excerptLength');
