Are you looking for a way to disable the visual editor in the Classic Editor for all users? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to disable visual editor in WordPress classic editor.
By default, WordPress provides an option for each user to disable the visual editor on their user profile page. If you’re running a multi-author site and want to disable the visual editor for all users without providing them an option, then this code can be helpful.
Instructions:
All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s functions.php file or in a site-specific plugin:
add_filter( 'wp_default_editor', create_function('', 'return "html";') );
Note: If this is your first time adding code snippets in WordPress, then please refer to our guide on how to properly add code snippets in WordPress, so you don’t accidentally break your site.
