Are you looking for a way to display total number of WordPress posts? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to display number of posts in WordPress.
Instructions:
All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s index.php file:
<?php // All pages $total = wp_count_posts()->publish; echo 'Total Posts: ' . $total; // Pages with a category $categories = get_categories('exclude=1,2,3'); foreach($categories as $category) { $total += $category->count; } echo 'Total Posts: ' . $total; ?>
Or, alternatively you could use this simpler code in one of your theme’s template files to display just the total number of published posts on your blog:
<? $published_posts = wp_count_posts()->publish; echo $published_posts; ?>
Note: If this is your first time adding code snippets in WordPress, then please refer to our guide on how to properly add code snippets in WordPress, so you don’t accidentally break your site.
