Are you looking for a way to display search terms from Google to users who find your website in Google? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to display search term from Google.
Instructions:
All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s index.php file:
<?php $refer = $_SERVER["HTTP_REFERER"]; if (strpos($refer, "google")) { $refer_string = parse_url($refer, PHP_URL_QUERY); parse_str($refer_string, $vars); $search_terms = $vars['q']; echo 'Welcome Google visitor! You searched for the following terms to get here: '; echo $search_terms; }; ?>
Note: If this is your first time adding code snippets in WordPress, then please refer to our guide on how to properly add code snippets in WordPress, so you don’t accidentally break your site.
