Are you looking for a way to display the Google search terms visitors use to find your website? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to display search terms from Google visitors in WordPress.
Instructions:
All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s template file where you want to display search terms>:
<?php $refer = $_SERVER["HTTP_REFERER"]; if (strpos($refer, "google")) { $refer_string = parse_url($refer, PHP_URL_QUERY); parse_str($refer_string, $vars); $search_terms = $vars['q']; echo 'Welcome Google visitor! You searched for the following terms to get here: '; echo $search_terms; }; ?>
Note: If this is your first time adding code snippets in WordPress, then please refer to our guide on how to properly add code snippets in WordPress, so you don’t accidentally break your site.
