Are you looking for a way to remove the post thumbnail from the WordPress gallery? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to remove the post thumbnail from the WordPress gallery.
Instructions:
All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s single.php file or in a site-specific plugin:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[gallery exclude="' . get_post_thumbnail_id( $post->ID ) . '"]'); ?>
It’ll display the gallery without thumbnail. You can also use it on other template files of your WordPress theme.
